Wooden poles with a plastic covering may be used at FEI Jumping events. 
Please note that the FEI Jumping Rules do not regulate the obstacle material 
to be used at FEI Jumping events but the following weights/dimensions are 
recommended:

Poles: Diameter: approx. 10 cm 

           Length: 3.50 m - 4.00 m (outdoor) 

                        3.00 m - 3.50 m (indoor)

           Shape of poles: round

                                     flat edge

           Planks:  3.50 m - 4.00 m x 20 cm x 4 cm (outdoor)

                         3.00m - 3.50m x 20 cm x 4 cm (indoor).

           Weight: poles: approx. 10 - 15 kilos

                        planks:  approx. 10 - 12 kilos

Dear Philippe Mayner,

I have been previosly asking you of different kind of poles and in case there is any

restrictions to use them.

I still have one question.  We make wooden pole with a soft plastic covering.

Hopefully you could help me , and give me an answer if FEI has any

restrictions to use such kind of poles  on competetion 

Our own oppinion is that these poles are more safe than traditional wooden poles

Also two course builders, one from Holland and one from Sweden who has tested our material

bouth in competetion and training, giving their comments of the poles.
